Location
Bled is located in the northwestern part of Slovenia. The lake with an island in the centre, the green of the woods and the Julian Alps as a background form an enchanting scenery, one of the symbols of Slovenia's natural beauty. The spas have been frequented since the mid-1800s by numerous tourists and important personalities for their thermal waters which contain calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, sulfur chloride, iron oxide carbonate and other mineral salts. Here, diseases of the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, nervous system and psycho-physical stress are treated. In the eastern part of the lake there are thermal springs, which are channeled into the pools of Bled hotels: Hotel Park, Grand Hotel Toplice and Rikli Balance Hotel.
Events in Bled
Various events are organized in Bled throughout the year. e.g. between June and July the Violina Festival takes place here with the participation of internationally renowned violinists or the classical music concert at the end of the year is held in the concert halls.
Cuisine of Bled
The locality also offers excellent cuisine. The most famous Bled flavor is represented by a dessert - Kremna Rezina, a savory millefeuille filled with vanilla cream and whipped cream prepared according to the original recipe for over 60 years.
